This consultation is $150 and lasts approximately 45- 60 minutes. The initial consultation at your home or business, allows me an opportunity to look over the artwork to be valued, and to obtain background information (provenance) of the object(s).
Consultation Contract This is a written agreement signed by the client and the appraiser to discover the value of the art object(s).
Consultation Report This is a one or two page report that shows the findings of the initial research.
ATTENTION!! Remember the Consultation Report is NOT a written Appraisal Report and is only a preliminary discovery of the value of your art objects.
Step Two: Deciding on An Appraisal
Beginning the Appraisal Process
Determine the intended purpose of the art appraisal (see SERVICES).
Estimate the cost of a completed appraisal report.
Appraisal Contract & Initial Fee This is a written agreement signed by the client and the appraiser to begin the research needed for the appraisal.
First, all objects to be valued will be photographed.
Documenting specific details of each art object(s).
Begin the archive research and market analysis needed to ascertain the current value of art objects.
Step Three: Art Appraisal
A formal, type-written signed report that presents the information needed in a complete and organized way. Each report meets or exceeds the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), and is compliant with those requirements set by the Internal Revenue Service.
Appraisal Report
An accurate concise inventory and condition description of each art object.
Research and market analysis including specific comparables used in reaching the valuation.
Color photographs of each object, with specific photographic detail as needed.
